Ethilon från Ethicon är en syntetisk, monofil och icke-resorberbar sutur.
Ethilon från Ethicon är en syntetisk, monofil och icke-resorberbar sutur tillverkad av polyamid 6 eller polyamid 6.6. Suturen används för mjukvävnadsförslutning och ligaturer inom ett brett urval kirurgiska områden, bland annat vid hudförslutning.Slät monofil konstruktion
Den monofila konstruktionen ger Ethilon en jämn, icke-porös yta som bidrar till smidig passage genom vävnaden och begränsad kapillär transport. Suturen finns svart, grön eller ofärgad, beroende på dimension och nålkombination.
Icke-resorberbar sutur med gradvis hållfasthetsförlust
Ethilon klassificeras som icke-resorberbar och bryts inte ned på samma sätt som resorberbara suturer. Polyamid kan dock genomgå en långsam hydrolys i kroppen, vilket med tiden kan minska trådens draghållfasthet. Ethilon bör därför inte väljas när permanent bibehållen hållfasthet är ett krav.
